Marieke Genard

‘Searching for words’ is my credo when coaching clients on their career questions, when facilitating teams and organizations during changes, when writing stories or communicating. I support people in their search for the very personal set of words that can guide them in their journey.

I co-founded, co-ordinated and co-wrote the story of ‘Werk met Zin’ (a name with a double meaning: ‘make sense of work’ and ‘enjoy working’), This is a co-operation of 23 coaches and trainers working all over the Flemish region in Belgium.

During my studies of Slavonic Languages & Cultures in the early 90’ies, I supported the development of new youth organizations in Central & Eastern Europe just after the fall of the Berlin wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Organizational development connected with individual growth has been the thread in my work. I combine field research and entrepreneurship with my coaching practices.

Stories have been a part of my life since my childhood. Storytelling as a method entered my coaching work when becoming an Appreciative Inquiry Practioner and by Re-authoring the World with Chené Swart. It has become a way of living since then.
