26th – 29th of June 2019

LINGENAU is a small village situated on a hill line between Austria and Germany. In a moment we were searching for a new and perfect conference location, it reached us like a mystic sign from the community in the shape of an undeniable invitation.

Undeniable, because Lingenau is more than a village. It is one of the first European Storytelling Villages, which invited us to organize the next Beyond Storytelling event around and within their community. What a tempting offer to go for new experiences and pursue new paths!

The road is clear

After our first two (non-) conferences in Heidelberg 2017 and Hamburg 2018 we didn’t want to be in bondage of a dominant scaling narrative. Instead we were searching for an additonal format that allows us to dive deeper into specific topics of our profession and provide to ourselves and accomplices in the field a free space to reflect, co-create together and inspire each other.

Therefore we are designing a small and delicate 4-day-research-format in LINGENAU/Austria 2019 as an exciting opportunity for all participants to dive deeper and expand their thinking and practices. So, the BST CAMP provides creative spaces and special encounters for practitioners and gives this years´ event an overall experimental framing.

With this lab, we also want to create impulses to reinvent the BST-conference and re-shape it for a return from 7th to 9th of May 2020 in BERLIN at Silent Green.

What to expect?

The STORY CAMP LINGENAU will be an open camp format, where we provide the frame – a principal structure with time blocks and logistics, enriched with units of orientation and reflexion – and the participants will draw the image. This means that we will not be constraining ourselves to a fixed agenda, but work all together filling a blank book with our co-contributions.

You can expect

  • Inspiring encounters with Story Workers from different fields

  • Self-organized workshops and deep-dive sessions

  • Unusual spaces to co-create ideas, prototype projects and get creative input

  • Get-togethers with local storytellers

  • A light, but carefully designed camp format

  • Three dinner to lean back, network, and just enjoy

  • A rural and decelerating surrounding

  • Bring yourself and co-create the event with us!
